Vintners Cellar Cochrane March 2021 Newsletter

Customer Appreciation Special

We want to thank you - our current customers - so…refer someone (friend, colleague, neighbour, family member) to the store. When they come in to make a kit and mention that you referred them you will receive a 10% discount on your next kit! We will track your referrals and you can cash them in when you start your next kit.

Barrel Club

We have seasoned the barrel for the first of three batches of wine we have on the go with the Barrel Club. The Italian Grand Barolo is now in the oak cask!! The Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon is getting stabilized this week and will hit the freezer and the Old Vine Merlot is in the primary fermenters and the yeast is doing its magic!!

We just sold out the Amarone with Grape Skins and but we have 9 spots available in the Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon with Grape Skins. The price is $303.00 plus any bottles you may require.

From our experience and from what our sister stores are saying the wines that get to spend some time in the barrel truly benefit from the additional treatment. Why not get in on our next barrel? As soon as we reach our 10 participants, we will get it started. Call us today to book your spot. 403-981-5511.

Gift Cards for Special Occasions

Treat that special someone with the gift of wine! Guaranteed to put a smile onto their faces. Our gift cards can be loaded with as much as you want to put onto them. Give the gift of wine, your favorite someone will love it!!

Summer Wines

It is only 110 days until the first day of summer and if you want to have some great summer wines to enjoy now is the time to come into the store and get yours started. 110 days seems like a long time but in wine time (starting a batch, fermenting, bottling and aging) now’s the time to get things rolling.

Some of our favorite summer wines include Gribiano, Gewurztraminer (our Gewurtz isn’t as sweet as most), Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Some of our favorite reds include Amarone, Cabernet Sauvignon, Italian Super Tuscan (a blend of Sangiovese, Cab Sauv, Merlot and Cab Franc… it is super!), Cabernet Trio (a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot…so good) and a new one for us is the Bergamais (a light red wine that is pleasant to the pallet and with a charcuterie board its spectacular).

Wine of the Month

Italian Frascati

A strong white wine blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia. The Malvasia gives the wine a citrus aspect while the Trebbiano is more delicately flavoured with floral notes that add a striking acidity to the wine. This light bodied, crisp, slightly off dry wine is pale yellow in colour. Tasting fruity and full of body, with aromatics and flavour of ripe fruit, touches of honey and wild flowers. Italian Frascati wine has an intense and quite complex nose, savoury with hints of melon and tropical fruits on a mellow citrus background with herbaceous undertones. Frascati goes perfectly with appetizers, soups, main courses, fish and poultry, as well as medium-aged cheeses.

Give this variety a try you might have just found your new favorite!

Bags for Your Wine

With spring just around the corner many of us are thinking about camping and out door activities. We also know that sometimes dealing with glass bottles can be a nuisance. We now have 4 litre bags available that you can put your wine into now or you can easily place a few bottles of wine in the bag for easy transportation to your outing at the time. The spout easily pulls off and on to keep your wine secure and safe. They cost you $4.00 per bag.
